The coast is not far from here and the nearest sandy beaches are at the seaside resort of St Jacut sur Mer, 12k. Fishing available nearby in the Arguenon lake.
20k from the lovely medieval town of Dinan overlooking the Rance river is this charming house adjoining another holiday home on a small hill, in hamlet. Comfortable lounge/dining room with inset fireplace, tv & dvd. Archway to kitchen with f/freezer, m/wave, d/washer and patio doors to rear terrace (garden furniture, bbq). Utility room (w/machine, t/dryer). Shower room. Wc. Narrow, spiral stairs lead to a cosy dble and tple (dble & sgle) bedrm on 1st floor. Duvets. Towel hire 5€ per person. Dinan
Dinan in Brittany is a charming riverside town, full of medieval history, with a 13th century castle and ramparts that encircle this well-preserved sanctuary where time has stood still.
Wander through Dinan's narrow cobbled streets, lined with pretty half-timber houses, and discover the Flamboyant Gothic St Malo church, the Basilica of St Saveur and the 40m high Tour de l'Horloge (clock tower). Climb the 158 steps to the top for some fantastic views of the town and surrounding area. For even better views, why not take a walk along the ramparts, which, at nearly 2.7km long, are the oldest and most impressive in Brittany? In July the Fête des Remparts (Feast of the Ramparts) takes place, a marvellous festival recreating life in medieval times with street celebrations, a market and a jousting tournament and many people dressed in medieval costume. The Château de Dinan is now a museum dedicated to the town's history and Dinan's famous hero, Bertrand du Guesclin, a Breton knight who became a military commander during the Hundred Years' War is remembered with 4 different memorials across the town. In 1357 the English laid seige to the town but it resisted. When Thomas Canterbury kidnapped Guesclin's brother he settled the matter by single combat in the Place Champs Clos opposite the Place Dugesclin, wich is named after him and where today you will find the town market on a Thursday morning.

Très bon séjour dans ce gîte en pleine campagne. Idéalement situé pour visiter plein de choses dans cette belle région même s'il faut faire au moins 30 minutes de route pour accéder au littoral... Très bon contact avec le propriétaire qui est disponible et très réactif en cas de soucis. Idem avec Christophe qui a géré notre accueil. La maison est très fraîche ce qui est bien quand il fait très chaud mais un peu moins agréable en cas de mauvais temps... La petite laine est nécessaire le soir... On a manqué de rien, tout est prévu dans le gîte, même les pastilles pour le lave vaisselle! Extérieur très agréable avec jardin et terrasse. Petit bémol : l'escalier très étroit vers l'étage et la salle de bains et WC qui sont au rez de chaussée. Mais on le savait en réservant ...

Gîte très accueillant, on y est comme à la maison ! Très bon échange avec les propriétaires et accueil parfait avec Sandrine. Petites gourmandises à l'arrivée. Maison charmante et très propre. Une cachette où il fait bon vivre... Je recommande.
